The White Dove Rockotel
The White Dove Rockotel
A petite boutique hotel project themed on 4 bands who played the original 1969 Woodstock Festival. Erin conceptualized the project, wrote the business plan, found the location, and got funding. She redesigned the property using CAD programming for floor plans and exterior site plans. With the help of her husband, Martin Mills, and a small crew of local workmen, she converted the derelict property built originally in 1865 into a four suite semi-luxury vacation spot, dubbed The White Dove Rockotel.
Each suite featured custom wallpapers and textiles designed by Erin. In addition she designed a built-in 4-post bed, upholstered vintage furniture, hand dyed a couch and created hand painted accent walls and stencils. During the 5 years it was open, The White Dove received national and international attention from the press, visiting musicians and other artists. Numerous photographers and brands used the distinct spaces as a film location. It has been used in a horror film, music videos, fashion look books, art photography and more.
As a hospitality business The WhiteDove received numerous travel awards. It was awarded a Bronze Level Greenpartner through Tripadvisor’s international certification process in partnership with United Nations Environment Programme. The hotel was sold for a profit in April 2019.
